| (5/16/07) Willie Eyre is the likely rotation fill-in for Kevin Millwood (calf) on Saturday at Houston, according to MLB.com. That assumes he is not used in relief before then. Right-handers Mike Wood (who was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma to make room for Millwood), Ezequiel Astacio and Josh Rupe, or left-handers John Koronka and Bruce Chen were passed up this go-around. RHP Jamey Wright (elbow) won't be ready. |

They'll likely have to choose between right-handers Mike Wood (who was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma to make room for Millwood), Ezequiel Astacio and Josh Rupe, or left-handers John Koronka and Bruce Chen. RHP Jamey Wright (elbow) won't be ready. |

| (4/5/07) According to MLB.com, Rangers P Ezequiel Astacio cleared waivers and was sent to Triple-A Oklahoma on Wednesday. The Rangers picked up Astacio from the Astros at the end of spring training. |
| Byrd among Rangers cut |
| (4/1/07) According to MLB.com, the Rangers designated Marlon Byrd for assignment on Sunday after he lost out on the final bench spot to Matt Kata. Byrd hit .314 this spring, but struggled defensively and that hurt him in the long run. The team also optioned C Miguel Ojeda to Triple-A after he lost out to Chris Stewart for the backup catcher's role. Ezequiel Astacio was also designated for assignment, while infielder Adam Fox was outrighted to the minor leagues. |
