Don Kelly's three-run blast the difference
by Jeff Lippman \| CBSSports.com (6/9/13) Tigers outfielder Don Kelly was the difference in Sunday's 4-1 win over Cleveland. Kelly's three-run homer in the sixth inning off starter Justin Masterson gave the game its final score. Kelly hit is third HR of the season with one out in the sixth. He finished 1 for 2 with two walks and is batting .198. The 33-year-old has hits in three straight games and four RBI over that span. Still, he's only seen 81 at-bats on the year.

Don Kelly gets start Thursday

That would be the extent of his contributions, as he went 1 for 4 with a run scored and one RBI, in a 10-4 loss. It was his first home run of the season, in 52 at-bats.

Don Kelly continues to sub for Austin Jackson
by Chris Cwik \| CBSSports.com (5/14/13) Tigers outfielder Don Kelly will continue to play center field with Austin Jackson on the disabled list. Kelly will not take Jackson's spot in the lineup, however. Instead, he will bat eighth Tuesday against the Angels. Andy Dirks will be the team's leadoff hitter for the second straight game. Kelly is hitting .200/.294/.289 in 45 at-bats.

Tigers try to replace Austin Jackson in lineup
by Michael Hurcomb \| CBSSports.com (5/13/13) Tigers manager Jim Leyland said Monday that outfielders Don Kelly, Andy Dirks and Avisail Garcia could all see playing time in center field with Austin Jackson on the disabled list. Although, Leyland hinted Garcia could see the majority of starts in center field. "He’s going to play," Leyland told MLive.com. "I’ll put him in center against a right-hander. I’ll play him in center against left-handers. I don’t know how it’s going to work out. It could be Dirks, it could be Kelly. But I’m not going to move Torii over." As for the leadoff spot in Jackson's absence, Leyland added Dirks would likely only hit leadoff against right-handed starters.
