Preseason Outlook

His solid season saw him finish up as the Blue Jays closer last season and has him in position to keep the job going into spring training. He will get competition initially from Scott Downs and Kevin Gregg, but if Frasor pitches as well as he did in 2009, he won't have much trouble remaining the closer for a significant amount of time. The problem is the Blue Jays have a shaky rotation and don't project to be a contender in the AL East, so Frasor is going to be one of those low-end closers that gets saves in bunches that are hard to anticipate. Consider him a fall-back option for saves after the top 25-30 relievers are off the board on Draft Day. (Updated 2/7/10)
