Fantasy Analysis
Hanrahan has now recorded a save in each of his last three outings and has been lights out since returning from the bereavement list last Sunday. He has also racked up four strikeouts over that stretch and has been able to maintain a six-inning scoreless streak. Fantasy owners should continue to roll with the 30-year-old in the majority of formats moving forward. (Updated 05/21/2012).

The relief pitching landscape sure has changed on a dime since opening day. Who are the right replacements to target? Our Scott White re-ranks his top closer options and answers your questions in Dear Mr. Fantasy.
Joel Hanrahan enjoyed a career campaign in his second season with the Pirates in 2011. Serving as a full-time closer, he converted each of his first 26 saves and finished 40 of 44 in saves chances with a 1.83 ERA in 70 appearances. While he struck out just 61 batters in 68 2/3 innings, he posted career-lows in walks (16) and WHIP (1.05) and enters 2012 as the closer for Pittsburgh again. The right-hander should benefit from the Pirates winning more games as an up-and-coming club, with a lot of those contests being close. Owners might not trust his track record but manager Clint Hurdle has confidence in the 30-year-old and he should be in line for another solid campaign in Fantasy. Target Hanrahan as a low-end No. 1 Fantasy relief pitcher on Draft Day. (Updated 2/21/12)
