(3/30/13) The Red Sox re-assigned outfielder Mitch Maier to minor-league camp Saturday, according to the Providence Journal.
Maier dealt with a sprained left wrist during camp and was held to just 16 games. He hit .346/.433/.385 in 26 at-bats before being sent down.

(3/30/13) Red Sox outfielder Mitch Maier made a pinch-hit appearance during Saturday's exhibition game against Minnesota after missing more than two weeks of playing time with a wrist injury. Maier tallied a single in his lone at-bat and also played center field during his first outing since March 15.

(3/19/13) An MRI exam on Red Sox outfielder Mitch Maier's ailing left wrist confirmed a severe sprain and there is no timetable for his return to baseball activities, WEEI.com reports. Maier suffered the injury while attempting to make a diving catch during last Friday's Grapefruit League contest. He will remain in a splint for now and his chances of making the opening day roster appear over.

(3/16/13) Red Sox outfielder Mitch Maier suffered a sprained left wrist injury in Friday's Grapefruit League contest against the Twins. Maier sustained the injury trying to make a diving catch and felt it again after hitting a single later in the game. He is expected to miss a few days of action, according to the Boston Globe.

(3/15/13) Red Sox outfielder Mitch Maier left Friday's Grapefruit League game against Baltimore in the third inning with a left-hand issue. He suffered the injury on a sliding catch of J.J. Hardy's line drive and was removed. "I feel like I jammed it and kind of rolled it under me," said Maier, who is expected to have X-rays. He finished 1 for 1 before the early departure.
