Narveson on the mend: Milwaukee pitcher Chris Narveson had successful surgery Tuesday to repair the labrum and rotator cuff in his left shoulder, the team announced. It's the second labrum surgery he has had in his career as he also underwent the procedure in 2005 while with the St. Louis organization. Narveson will be sidelined for the next nine months, which puts his status for the starting of spring training next year in question. (Updated 05/01/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Narveson, who is on the 60-day disabled list, finished with a 1-1 record and 7.00 ERA in two starts during his injury shortened campaign. The 30-year-old had some trouble locating his pitches and was also tagged for two home runs over nine innings of work. Fantasy owners should not consider him a worthwhile option in any format for the remainder of the season. (Updated 05/01/2012).

Chipper Jones hit a three-run homer in his return after missing two games, Brandon Beachy pitched seven strong innings and the surging Braves beat the Milwaukee Brewers 7-4 on Sunday for a three-game sweep.
Chris Narveson proved to be a viable option in the rotation for the Brewers again in 2011. He went 6-5 with a 4.75 ERA over 18 starts in the first half and won five of his 10 starts after the All-Star break while posting a 3.94 ERA over that span. He has posted double-digit wins each of the last two seasons with an ERA under 5.00. The left-hander underwent hip surgery in October but is expected to be ready for the start of spring training and is slated to be the No. 5 starter for the Brewers. While Narveson does not post the best numbers in Fantasy, he benefits from a potent lineup in Milwaukee and can be used as a low-end option. Target the 30-year-old mostly in NL-only formats on Draft Day. (Updated 2/17/12)
