Ramirez earns first save: After shaky closer Frank Francisco blew Sundays one-run lead in the 10th inning and the Mets came back to take another lead in the 11th, the team turned to Ramon Ramirez to close it out, and he shut the door on the Rockies, preserving a 6-5 win and perhaps Franciscos hold on the role in doubt. Ramirez worked a 1-2-3 11th, recording one strikeout and picking up two flyball outs to finish the game. (Updated 04/29/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Ramirez has not been perfect this season, by any stretch, as he allowed three runs on Friday against the Rockies, however his 5.40 ERA is quite a bit better than Franciscos 7.71 mark. The team will probably give Francisco more time in the role, however his leash has to be short after allowing runs in five of his last six outings, so Ramirez could get the call soon. Monitor the situation, however consider Ramirez an NL-only option for deeper formats unless he can earn the ninth-inning role. (Updated 04/29/2012).
