Kazmir, Mets reunion unlikely: Free-agent pitcher Scott Kazmir will not be returning to the Mets anytime soon. Kazmir, who was considered one of the organization's top prospects in the early 2000s, held a second workout for prospective teams is his native state of Texas on Friday. New York was the only major league club to attend the session, but general manager Sandy Alderson told MLB.com that the Mets only have "tepid" interest in signing the left-hander. Fantasy Analysis
Kazmir, who turned 28 years old last month, has not pitched regularly in the majors in the past two seasons as he has dealt with back and shoulder injuries. Kazmir flashed tremendous velocity earlier in his career and struck out an American League-leading 239 batters for Tampa Bay in 2007. However, those days are long gone and Kazmir has struggled with control issues. He is not worth a selection in 2012 Fantasy drafts. (Updated 02/25/2012).
