| Aaron Hill's hand not healed yet |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (5/13/13) Diamondbacks infielder Aaron Hill has not been cleared to resume baseball activities as of Monday, azcentral.com reports. Hill visited the doctor for his broken hand and has been told it has not healed enough.
Arizona still has no timetable for Hill's return, though it seems unlikely he'll be back before June.
"He's going to be waiting and try to get some more growth on that bone," Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said.

| Aaron Hill hoping to hit off tee next week |
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com (5/9/13) Diamondbacks second baseman Aaron Hill is scheduled to visit the doctor on Sunday and will undergo another CT scan on Monday. If all goes well, Hill could start hitting off a tee at some point next week.
Hill has been on the disabled list since April 15 after suffering a broken hand on April 9. He was expecting to to be out of his soft cast this week but his bone was still tender after trying to pick up a bat. He was ordered by doctors to keep his wrist in a splint for another week.
"Until we see it heal, we don't want to mess with it," Hill told MLB.com. "You just feel it when you do something, but that's why they have it in a cast."

| Aaron Hill still in splint |
by Ed Gauna | CBSSports.com (5/9/13) Diamondbacks second baseman Aaron Hill, on the 15-day list, has been advised to remain in a splint for another week after visiting a doctor Tuesday, the Arizona Republic reports.
He is expected to undergo more tests next week.
"Hopefully, it’ll be enough to get him out of the splint and have him start to do some strengthening exercises," manager Kirk Gibson said Wednesday.

| Aaron Hill making slow progress |
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com (5/3/13) Diamondbacks general manager Kevin Towers told the Arizona Republic Friday that Aaron Hill's hand is healing slower than the team had hoped.
The 31-year-old has been sidelined since April 14. Hill hit .306 with two homers and six RBI in 36 at-bats before landing on the DL. He could be back at some point in late May, Towers said.

| Aaron Hill still in splint |
by Ed Gauna | CBSSports.com (4/30/13) Diamondbacks second baseman Aaron Hill, on the 15-day disabled list, was examined Tuesday and doctors elected to keep him in a splint, MLB.com reports. The 31-year-old is expected to have his broken left hand re-examined next week before continuing rehab.
Hill batted .306 with two homers and six RBI in 36 at-bats before landing on the DL.

| If Aaron Hill didn't have the best year of his career in 2012, he definitely came close. His .302 average was the highest of his career, his 26 home runs, 44 doubles and 14 steals all qualified as the second most and his .882 OPS blew his previous career high away. At 31 years old, Hill is still in his prime years and he's found a nice park in which to hit in Arizona. It would be foolish to ignore the .225 average and .660 OPS he posted in 2010 and 2011, but he does have three 25 home run seasons in his last four now, along with a career .272 average, so that 2011 season split between the Blue Jays and Diamondbacks looks more like the aberration. A top option at a position that's looking shallow in 2013, Hill should be one of the first five second basemen off the board on Draft Day. (Updated 12/4/12) |
