Sweeney placed on 7-day DL: The Red Sox officially placed outfielder Ryan Sweeney on the 7-day concussion disabled list on Tuesday, reports MLB.com. Sweeney underwent more concussion tests on Monday and manager Bobby Valentine said after Monday's win over the Orioles that he did not pass all of them and will need time on the shelf. Sweeney had some conflicting reports on Monday with some reporting he apparently passed his concussion tests.
