Preseason Outlook

Kinsler becomes third 30-30 2B: Texas 2B Ian Kinsler set a lofty goal for himself because he wanted to do his part to help the Rangers become a playoff team. He reached his personal target as he became the third second baseman in major-league history with 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases, going 1 for 2 with a home run, two walks, three RBI and two runs scored Friday against the Rays. "I said in spring training that I felt if I could go 30-30, I could help the team significantly," said Kinsler, who hit his 30th home run in the eighth inning. "Obviously we're struggling to get into the playoffs, but we've had a real good year to this point. I think the 30 steals and 30 homers helped us win some games."

Fantasy Analysis

Kinsler clearly hasn't disappointed with his power or speed, but his .250 batting average leaves his Fantasy owners wanting more. Still, he's one of the best second basemen in Fantasy. Just don't expect him to go in the first round next year like he did in some leagues this year.
