Pagan hitless in return: Giants outfielder Angel Pagan was back in the starting lineup on Tuesday against the Brewers, after missing Monday's game with an illness. Batting fifth in the game, he drove in a run on a sacrifice fly, but otherwise went hitless in three at bats as the Giants won, 6-4. (Updated 05/23/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
This was just the second time in his last 33 games in which Pagan has not had a hit, as he has been on quite a tear for the Giants. His batting average fell below .300 on the year after the game, as it now stands at .297. He should be active in most Fantasy formats while he is hot. (Updated 05/23/2012).

05/20/2012 20:32 A's drop Giants; Lincecum in collision
Collin Cowgill drove in the go-ahead runs and scored in a home plate collision with pitcher Tim Lincecum, and the Oakland Athletics snapped an 11-game losing streak in San Francisco with a 6-2 victory over the Bay Area rival Giants on Sunday.
Angel Pagan, acquired from the Mets in exchange for OF Andres Torres and RP Ramon Ramirez, is part of the Giants' outfield makeover. As a starting center fielder in 2011, Pagan failed to match his surprisingly robust statistical line from the 2010 season, but even with missing more than a month with a strained oblique, he still posted his second straight season with 30-plus steals. Given that Pagan didn't seem to lose any speed, it's difficult to explain why his batting average on balls in play fell 44 points, robbing him of points on his overall batting average and of run-scoring opportunities. Both of those should return in 2012, making Pagan a potential bargain in standard mixed leagues. As a strong comeback candidate, Pagan is worth targeting in those formats with a late-round pick.
