(6/12/13) Mets shortstop Omar Quintanilla hit his second home run in Tuesday's loss to St. Louis.
Quintanilla has been sharp in his first nine games with New York, as he has five extra-base hits in 40 at-bats. He's hitting a cool .325/.372/.575 and could see more at-bats in the middle infield going forward.

(6/5/13) Mets shortstop Omar Quintanilla walked, doubled, tripled and drove in two runs Tuesday against the Nationals. Quintanilla has hit safely in four straight games -- producing multiple hits in each game.
Quintanilla, who has replaced the injured Ruben Tejada at shortstop, is batting .600 (9 for 15) with one double, one triple, one home run, three runs and three RBI in his last four games.

(5/30/13) The Mets are planning to put recently recalled infielder Omar Quintanilla to use immediately, as ESPN.com reports he will start Thursday against the Yankees at shortstop.
Quintanilla was hitting .577 over his previous 10 games at Triple-A Las Vegas, so the team wants to get him active while his bat is hot.

(5/30/13) The Mets purchased the contract of infielder Omar Quintanilla from Triple-A Las Vegas Thursday, as he'll take the place of DL-bound shortstop Ruben Tejada.
Frank Francisco was placed on the 60-day disabled list to make room on the 40-man roster for Quintanilla.
Quintanilla was batting .333 with a .903 OPS at Las Vegas. He last appeared in the majors with Baltimore last season, where he hit .232 in 99 at-bats.

(5/29/13) Mets infielder Omar Quintanilla was pulled from his Triple-A game Wednesday night after Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada suffered a quad injury, ESPN New York reports. It's likely Tejada hits the disabled list and Quintanilla is promoted before Thursday's game.
