| Chris Young hit hard in Triple-A debut |
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com (4/23/13) Nationals pitcher Chris Young was knocked around in his first start of the season with Triple-A Syracuse. The 33-year-old surrendered six runs over 4 1/3 innings.
Young is viewed as the No. 6 starter since signing a minor-league deal earlier in the month.

by Bill Passonno | CBSSports.com (4/22/13) Nationals pitcher Chris Young is scheduled to join Triple-A Syracuse for his first start of the season Tuesday, MASNsports.com reports. Young, who is viewed as Washington's unofficial No. 6 starter, has been pitching in extended spring training games since signing a minor-league deal with the club earlier this month.

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (4/4/13) After announcing Thursday they re-signed starting pitcher Chris Young, Nationals manager Davey Johnson said Young will be the first pitcher called upon in case the team needs an emergency starter, according to MLB.com.
Zach Duke was originally called upon on the team's sixth starter, but he will now remain in his role as long reliever.
Young will get stretched out at the team's spring complex in Florida before reporting to Triple-A Syracuse. General manager Mike Rizzo said it will be 10-12 days before Young reports to Syracuse.
"I like him," Johnson said about Young. "He threw the ball well this spring. He pitched really well. A competitor. He is great insurance."

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (4/4/13) The Nationals announced Thursday they have re-signed starting pitcher Chris Young to a minor-league deal. Young opted out of his contract at the end of spring training.
Young will report to the team's spring complex in Florida. He will throw a couple of bullpen session before reporting to Triple-A Syracuse, according to MASNsports.com. He was 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA in four spring starts for Washington.

Young has been a free agent since opting out of his contract with the Nationals at the end of spring training.
