|Chris Young in Nationals' rotation mix |
|by Al Melchior | Data Analyst|
(11/20/13) The Washington Post reports that the Nationals signed starting pitcher Chris Young to a minor league deal.
Young is coming off a season in which he was limited to nine starts -- all in the Nationals' minor league system -- as he dealt with shoulder and neck pain. He underwent surgery to correct thoracic outlet syndrome, but he is expected to be ready to compete for a rotation spot in spring training.
If Young is not carried on the Nationals' active roster at the end of spring training, he can opt out of his contract.
