Fantasy Analysis
Cano is batting .310 for the Yankees to go with his 16 RBI. It is taking Cano a bit longer to get going this year as he had eight homers and 21 RBI in the month of April in 2011. Despite his slow start, Cano is once again riding a hit streak. He's gone 7 for 18 (.389) with two RBI and five runs scored over his last five games. Fantasy owners have to stick with Cano as he's an elite second baseman in all formats. (Updated 05/18/2012).

05/20/2012 19:47 Hit Parade for Week 8
Some catchers have been bitten by the injury bug in recent days, leaving some owners scrambling. Our Scott White shares some recommendations and helps set your lineups for Week 8 in his Hit Parade.
Any time a second baseman can hit .300 with 25-plus home runs every year, you have an elite performer, and Robinson Cano has cleared those benchmarks for each of the last three seasons. It also doesn't hurt Cano to bat in the middle of the Yankees' loaded lineup, and he should be able to exceed 100 runs and RBI yet again this season. Granted, Cano isn't alone at the top of the second base rankings, as he doesn't steal bases or draw walks like either Dustin Pedroia or Ian Kinsler, but he is unparalleled at his position in his ability to hit doubles, stroking more than 40 of them in three straight seasons. Cano has been as good and as consistent a second baseman as there has been over those three years, and that makes him worth considering as soon as the middle of the first round in all formats on Draft Day.
