| Robinson Cano tweaks wrist after home run |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (5/20/13) Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano dove after a Danny Valencia grounder up the middle in the second inning in Baltimore Monday and came up flexing his right hand or wrist, YES reported.
Cano remained in the game and grounded out to first base in the top of the third inning. Earlier in the game, Cano hit his 13th home run of the season on an opposite-field shot.

| Yankees talking with Robinson Cano's new agents |
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (5/16/13) Yankees managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner said Thursday he has communicated "several" times with second baseman Robinson Cano's new representation about a long-term contract extension, according to the New York Post. Steinbrenner remains hopeful the Yankees will sign Cano before he's eligible for free agency after the season.
"We've had several conversations with Brodie (Van Wagenen), the new agent, just as we did with Scott (Boras)," Steinbrenner said. "A lot of it's procedural. I keep saying, it's not a process we'll be reading about in the paper every day. If anything significant happens, everybody's going to know, but we're going to continue in the weeks to come to work though things and try to come to an agreement."

| Robinson Cano drives in two |
by Jack Moore | CBSSports.com (5/15/13) Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano went 2 for 3 with a walk in Tuesday's win over Seattle.
Cano also doubled, scored a run and knocked in two. His average is back above .300 again (.306) and his .563 slugging percentage leads all second basemen by nearly 50 points (Ian Kinsler, .516).

| Robinson Cano hits 10th home run |
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (5/12/13) Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano reached 10 home runs Sunday against the Royals with a two-run shot off Ervin Santana in the third inning. It was Cano's third home run in 10 May games.
Cano, who finished 2 for 4, is batting .268 (11 for 41) with two doubles, four runs and six RBI in May.

| There's little fault one can find with Robinson Cano. In 2012, he established career highs in home runs (33), walks (61), OPS (.929), total bases (345) and tied a career best in doubles (48). His .313 average marked the fourth straight season with an average above .300. And while he didn't build on the eight steals from 2011, not many owners are going to complain about three steals thrown on top of all this offensive goodness. Cano has played in no fewer than 159 games in each of the last six seasons and is in a lineup that allows him to reach triple-digits in runs and RBI. If he isn't the best Fantasy second baseman, he's definitely in the top three. He'll be drafted in the first round of most formats. (Updated 12/5/12) |
