Yankees talking with Robinson Cano's new agents
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(5/16/13) Yankees managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner said Thursday he has communicated "several" times with second baseman Robinson Cano's new representation about a long-term contract extension, according to the New York Post. Steinbrenner remains hopeful the Yankees will sign Cano before he's eligible for free agency after the season.

"We've had several conversations with Brodie (Van Wagenen), the new agent, just as we did with Scott (Boras)," Steinbrenner said. "A lot of it's procedural. I keep saying, it's not a process we'll be reading about in the paper every day. If anything significant happens, everybody's going to know, but we're going to continue in the weeks to come to work though things and try to come to an agreement."
