Davis shows some rare power: Blue Jays outfielder Rajai Davis has been seeing some increased playing time recently and that will likely continue after his performance against the Mets on Friday. He went 2 for 4 with two home runs in the 14-5 win. He launched a two-run shot off Jonathon Niese in his first at-bat for his first long ball of the season. Then in the fifth inning, he hit another two-run bomb, this time off Manny Acosta. Davis now has 15 career home runs. Davis said he had not hit two homers in a game since he was 12. "It was in the first game in Little League and I only hit one more the rest of the season," he said. (Updated 05/18/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Davis hit more home runs on Friday then he did all of last season and is now slugging .543 on the year. Still, he is better known for his speed so owners should not expect a ton of power from him going forward. The Blue Jays like what he brings to the lineup so keep an eye on how the 31-year-old is used forward. Davis is worth a look in AL-only formats and some deeper Rotisserie formats at this point. As interleague play gets under way there are many matchups to break down. Our Scott White tells you who the best bets and biggest risks are in his Hit Parade for Week 7.
Rajai Davis enters the 2012 season firmly entrenched as the backup in center field behind Colby Rasmus for the Blue Jays. The 31-year-old speedy Davis is coming off a season in which he hit .238 with 34 stolen bases, 21 doubles and 44 runs scored over 320 at-bats with Toronto. Expected to begin the year as the team's leadoff hitter, injuries derailed him and Rasmus will continue to keep him off that track. Davis will be primarily just a backup outfielder for the Blue Jays in 2012. Still, he should continue to steal plenty of bases and that will help Fantasy owners in Rotisserie formats. Outside of that, Davis should be limited to AL-only Fantasy leagues. (Updated 2/8/12)
