Preseason Outlook

Carmona was yet again a disaster in '09. After his breakthrough 2007 and disappointing 2008, we figured Carmona would be due to come back up. He sunk to personal lows instead. It has gotten to the point where many in Fantasy will see his breakthrough three seasons ago as the outlier and the other years of his career as the norm. He easily ranks outside of the top 100 starting pitchers and is a risky pick even for AL-only leagues now. He is not old enough to give up on completely, but the fact the Indians are smack dab in a rebuilding process makes it tough to expect much from Carmona this season. (Updated 1/13/10)
