McCarthy's last start not so great: Rangers SP Brandon McCarthy, who allowed zero earned runs in 7 2/3 innings in his last start, didn't fare so well in his final start Friday at Seattle. He allowed four runs on seven hits in 4 2/3 innings, recording five strikeouts without issuing a walk. He didn't factor in the decision, however.

Fantasy Analysis

McCarthy showed some potential at times this season, but Fantasy owners have already lost patience with him, which is understandable since he's already 26 years old. Pitching for a normally strong offensive team, he could have some mixed-league appeal next year, but he'll be nothing more than a late-round flier on Draft Day.
