Preseason Outlook

McCarthy has taken years to realize his potential, mostly because he has battled injuries every year. He should, or we suppose could, be healthy this spring and would be counted on to be one of the Rangers' five starters. McCarthy has intriguing unrealized potential and will get great run support from the Rangers. If he can prove healthy enough to start out of spring training and stay in the rotation, he will be a nice pick-up in mixed leagues. We have to rank him as merely an AL-only option at this point.
