Miner finishing up in the bullpen: From The Sports Xchange notes: RHP Zach Miner won't be moved into the rotation because he's too valuable in the bullpen. Sunday at Minnesota, Miner was brought from the bullpen in the sixth inning to relieve starting LHP Nate Robertson and to protect a 4-2 lead. He pitched two scoreless innings, allowing just one hit, to hand the game off to the Tigers' late-inning relievers. "Miner quietly has been doing a tremendous job," manager Jim Leyland said. "That's why I didn't want to take him out (of the bullpen). He's too valuable there." Miner said, "Whatever's going to help us. "In the rotation, what would I give them? Three, four, or five innings, when I haven't stretched out in a while? There's no sense in that when I'd be right back in the bullpen for the playoffs. We need to win and I don't care what my role is. I want to get back to the World Series, and if that is what I need to do to help us, I want to do that."
