| (7/29/10) The Dodgers have designated lefty reliever Jack Taschner for assignment Thursday. Taschner, who was also designated by the Pirates earlier this season, made three appearances for the Dodgers. "It's been a long year," Taschner told MLB.com. "Pittsburgh definitely came as a surprise when I got designated by them. I was pitching way out of what I was used to doing. That was a bitter pill. This one here, one week, I mean ... . " They have 10 days to trade him, release him or outright him to the minor leagues. |

| (7/22/10) Dodgers manager Joe Torre told MLB.com on Thursday that veteran RP Jack Taschner, who was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday, will replace George Sherrill as the team's situational left-handed reliever. Torre said Sherrill will be used earlier in games "until we get enough good outings that he's confident what's coming out, and we are, too." |

| Dodgers give Taschner minor deal |
| (6/28/10) The Dodgers signed RP Jack Taschner to a minor league deal, and he pitched for Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday. He was designated for assignment by Pittsburgh earlier this month. According to MLB.com, the Dodgers are interested in Taschner as a situational left-hander for the bullpen because of left-handed RP George Sherrill's struggles and RP Hong-Chih Kuo not being able to be used on back-to-back days due to his tender elbow. Taschner was 1-0 with a 6.05 ERA in 17 relief appearances for the Pirates this year. |
