Kottaras to stay Wolf's battery mate : Manager Ron Roenicke decided to stick with George Kottaras behind the plate for Monday's contest against the Giants. Kottaras has caught all ninth of Wolf's starts this season. "I didn't wrestle with it, but we did talk about it today," Roenicke said. "I like both of our catchers. I can't imagine production-wise if there's any better pair in the Major Leagues." (Updated 05/21/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Kottaras will continue to see starts whenever Wolf is on the mound, but playing time could be hard to come by any other time. With Johnathan Lucroy swinging such a hot bat, Kottaras will have to make the most of his limited opportunities. He is batting .257 with three home runs and nine RBI on the season and should only be owned in deeper NL-only formats at this point in the season. (Updated 05/21/2012).

Johnny Cueto showed he could hold his own in a duel with one of baseball's toughest pitchers at home, Zack Greinke. Joey Votto and the Cincinnati Reds then found a way to give Dusty Baker his 1,500th victory.
George Kottaras did not see a ton of playing time behind Jonathan LuCroy last season but was the personal catcher for starter Randy Wolf. He appeared in 49 games, batting .252 with five homers and 17 RBI in 111 at-bats. He set career marks with a .311 on-base percentage and .459 slugging percentage but his lack of starts limited his value in Fantasy. While an injury would push him into an everyday role, the 28-year-old will likely be in for more of the same in 2012 so ignore Kottaras in all but the deepest of NL-only formats on Draft Day.
