| Yusmeiro Petit Ks 13 in Triple-A start |

(4/20/13) Giants right-hander Yusmeiro Petit struck out 13 in a Triple-A game Friday night. He fell a strikeout shy of matching Tim Lincecum's Triple-A Fresno record set in 2007.
Petit is 1-2 with a 6.23 ERA in four minor-league starts. He has struck out 31 and walked five over but allowed seven home runs.

(3/19/13) Giants relief pitcher Yusmeiro Petit accepted his assignment to Triple-A Fresno on Tuesday, the team announced. Petit was discarded from the 40-man roster on Sunday and had the option of joining the minor-league club or becoming a free agent.

(3/17/13) The Giants outrighted pitcher Yusmeiro Petit off the 40-man roster on Sunday. Petit, who posted a 10.80 ERA in three Cactus League outings, can accept an assignment to Triple-A Fresno or become a free agent.

(3/14/13) Giants right-hander Yusmeiro Petit did not have much success in an exhibition game Thursday against the Japanese national team. Petit pitched two scoreless innings before Japan scored three times in the third inning. He allowed four runs on six hits over four innings of work in a 6-3 defeat. He struck out three and walked one and was credited with the loss. Petit, 28, has allowed eight runs in 6 2/3 innings of work through his first three Cactus League outings and is expected to start the season in the minors.

(9/24/12) Getting the start after the team clinched the NL West a day earlier, right-hander Yusmeiro Petit struggled in his Giants' debut Sunday against the Padres, allowing two runs on seven hits over 4 2/3 innings. He walked four and struck out one. "I felt great," Petit said. "It's been three weeks without pitching. I felt a little lost in the first inning but then I was able to do the job."
