Barton works on aggressiveness: Oakland first baseman Daric Barton went hitless in two at-bats with a walk during the Athletics' 4-0 loss to San Francisco in an interleague matchup on Saturday. Barton's outing halted his hitting streak at four games but he has reached base safely overall in his past eight contests. Barton has increased his batting average to .211 following his recent run, but remains stuck on one extra-base hit during the month of May. (Updated 05/19/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Barton has been working with Oakland's coaches on developing an aggressive approach at the plate and entered Saturday's game batting .556 (5 for 9) with two doubles when swinging at the first pitch, according to MLB.com. That mark is compared to a 3 for 38 showing with a count featuring at least two strikes. "This is probably the most comfortable I've seen him here," manager Bob Melvin said. "I think we're starting to make some strides with him. He's looking more confident." Fantasy owners should continue to track Barton's production at the plate for now. (Updated 05/19/2012).

As interleague play gets under way there are many matchups to break down. Our Scott White tells you who the best bets and biggest risks are in his Hit Parade for Week 7.
Daric Barton endured the worst campaign of his career a season ago. He batted just .212 with no home runs and 21 RBI. He was limited to 67 games due to a shoulder injury and underwent surgery In September. It was too bad, as he had just come off a career campaign in which he hit 10 home runs with 57 RBI and a .273 average. Barton used to be the everyday starter for the A's but with the acquisition of Brandon Allen at the deadline last season, it looks as though he will have a bench role in 2012. That being the case, ignore the 26-year-old in all but the deepest of AL-only formats on Draft Day. (Updated 2/1/12)
