| (9/7/08) Before the game the Giants purchased the contract of 3B Conor Gillaspie from Class A Salem-Keizer and outrighted OF Clay Timpner to Triple-A Fresno. Gillaspie was the 37th player overall selected in last June's draft. They have 10 days to trade, release or outright him to the minor leagues. |

| (9/6/08) Third baseman Conor Gillaspie was called up from the low minors Saturday by the San Francisco Giants, a quick promotion for a player who was drafted three months ago. The 21-year-old former Wichita State standout was the 37th player selected in the June draft and he spent only 91 days in the minors before getting called up. It is the fastest a Giants player has ever reached the majors after being drafted. To make room on their 40-man roster, the Giants sent outfielder Clay Timpner outright to Triple-A Fresno. |

| (4/8/08) Giants outfielder Dave Roberts was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left knee injury just before San Francisco's game with the San Diego Padres on Tuesday night. The Giants called up outfielder Clay Timpner from Triple-A Fresno for his first appearance in the big leagues. However, Daniel Ortmeier got the start in left field Tuesday against the Padres. |
