|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
(8/12/14) The Blue Jays activated first baseman Adam Lind from the disabled list Tuesday, and he'll bat cleanup in Tuesday's game against the Mariners.
Lind ended up missing a little more than a month while recovering from a foot injury. He returns to a .320/.389/.489 line with four home runs and 27 RBI in 178 at-bats.

(8/9/14) The Blue Jays have announced that two of their standouts are making progress in rehabbing injuries, per Sportsnet.
First baseman Edwin Encarnacion, who has been sidelined since June 5 with a quad injury, is set to start a rehab assignment Saturday night at Class A Advanced Dunedin.
Meanwhile, Adam Lind will resume his rehab stint Saturday after being sidelined since Thursday with a sore back. He has been out of the Toronto lineup since July 7 with a foot injury. He could rejoin the team Monday against Seattle.

(8/8/14) Blue Jays designated hitter Adam Lind was out of the lineup at his Gulf Coast League rehab assignment Thursday due to a sore back, according to the National Post.
Lind, who is working his way back from a broken foot, was dealing with back tightness after Wednesday's rehab debut. With rain in the forecast Thursday, the team opted to play it safe, given Lind's history of back issues.
"No change to Lind's status from what I said a day ago," general manager Alex Anthopoulos said. "He was scheduled to have two ABs and he got them. We don't anticipate any issues. Obviously if it's sore or tight tomorrow, we'll adjust."
The team still anticipates Lind returning to action by early next week.
|Adam Lind doubles twice in rehab debut |
|by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com|
(8/7/14) Blue Jays designated hitter Adam Lind had a pair of doubles in two at-bats during his minor-league rehab debut for the team's Gulf Coast League affiliate.
Lind is working his way back from a broken foot that has kept him out since July 7. He is expected to return from the disabled list as early as Monday.
|Adam Lind had another season painted in broad split strokes, with a .309 average and .924 OPS against right-handed pitchers and a .208 average with .573 OPS against lefties. It all added up to Lind having the third-highest average (.288), OBP (.357) and OPS (.854) of his career, with his 23 home runs giving him four 20-homer seasons -- all coming in years when he reached 500 at-bats. The problem with Lind's production is two-fold. First, 23 home runs is fine for a CI spot, but is on the lower end of starting first baseman-type power. Second, as his splits become more apparent, Lind may continue to lose at-bats, which will drive down his RBI and run production. Consider him a bench or CI target in mixed leagues, and a steady-but-unexciting cheap, mid-round first base option in AL-only formats.
