Cardinals ink two players to minors deals

by Al Melchior | Data Analyst
(11/18/13) The Cardinals signed infielder Scott Moore and catcher Ed Easley to minor league contracts with spring training invites Monday, according to MLB.com.

Moore last played in the majors with the Astros in 2012, and he spent this season with the Padres' and Athletics' Triple-A affiliates.

Easley has spent his entire career in the Diamondbacks' minor league system, and in 2013, he played the whole season at Triple-A Reno.

(11/8/13) The Cardinals signed infielder Scott Moore to a minor-league contract Friday. Moore owned a .271/.353/.448 with 14 home runs and 66 RBI at Triple-A level in 2013. He is expected to earn an invitation to spring training.

Michael Taylor misses out on roster

by Bill Passonno | CBSSports.com
(3/17/13) The Oakland Athletics pared down their roster Sunday, optioning outfielders Grant Green and Michael Taylor to Triple-A Sacramento. Both players were in the running for a spot on the opening day roster this spring, but could make an appearance with the parent club at some point during the season.

The Athletics also reassigned pitcher Brian Gordon, catcher Dave Freitas, first baseman Scott Moore, shortstop Dawrin Perez and outfielder Michael Choice to their minor-league camp.

Moore catches on with A's

by Nando Di Fino | Senior Fantasy Writer
(11/29/12) The Oakland Athletics have signed infielder Scott Moore to a minor league contract. He also snagged an invite to spring training. “I had quite a few offers and Oakland called me and talked to me and basically there, guys in my situation have been known to get pretty good opportunities to play,” Moore told MLB.com. “Also, I’m going into my 12th season and I’ve never really [been] anywhere remotely close to home (southern California) and that was pretty exciting, too.”
