Fantasy Analysis
Bourn had one of his best all-around seasons in 2011. He tied a career-high with 61 stolen bases, while batting a career-high .294. He split time with the Astros and Braves. Bourn will be a free agent following the 2012 season, so he still has a lot to play for this season. Consider Bourn a top 20 Fantasy OF on Draft Day. He clearly has slightly more Fantasy value in Rotisserie formats. (Updated 01/17/2012).

02/02/2012 06:55 2012 Fantasy outlooks: Atlanta Braves
Last season was especially painful for the Braves -- really just the final month. But Atlanta brings back a stable of Fantasy heavy-hitters and our Scott White says now all they need is a bit of better luck in his team outlook.
Michael Bourn's 2011 numbers look an awful lot like his 2009 numbers. So why did he rank 13th among Head-to-Head outfielders last year compared to 22nd three years ago? Yes, with the decline in power throughout the majors, Bourn has been one of the biggest beneficiaries. His speed-heavy skill set hasn't been affected, causing him to move up the rankings simply by virtue of so many other players falling. True, his value is entirely dependent on his ability to run, which can evaporate rather quickly, but at age 29, he should still be at the top of his game. If nothing else, you know the move from Houston to Atlanta won't slow him down. The Braves acquired him at the deadline last year to add some life to the top of their lineup, and he certainly did that, attempting more steals per game than ever before. Having led the NL in the category three straight years, Bourn has dethroned Juan Pierre as the preeminent steals specialist in Fantasy, giving him added value in Rotisserie leagues. As he matures as a hitter, his on-base ability only figures to improve, so you have no reason to shy away from him as a No. 2 Fantasy outfielder. (Updated 1/5/12)
