Bourn shows some life, power at plate: After going just 3 for 23 (.130) in his last six games, Braves outfielder Michael Bourn showed some life at the plate on Tuesday against the Reds. He went 3 for 4 with two home runs in the 4-3 loss. He led off the game with his second long ball of the season before doubling in his next at-bat. Then in the eighth inning, Bourn launched another solo shot off reliever Logan Ondrusek. It was Bourn's first career multi-homer game. (Updated 05/22/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Bourn is not known for his power but with the way he has been slumping of late, owners will definitely take the production. He had seen his average drop from .340 to .314 during his slump so hopefully this three-hit performance will get him going again. With his ability to hit for average and swipe a ton of bases, continue to view Bourn as a solid option in all Fantasy formats. (Updated 05/22/2012).

Brandon Phillips drove in three runs with a pair of homers off Brandon Beachy on Tuesday night, leading the Cincinnati Reds to a 4-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves in another game of all-or-nothing.
Michael Bourn's 2011 numbers look an awful lot like his 2009 numbers. So why did he rank 13th among Head-to-Head outfielders last year compared to 22nd three years ago? Yes, with the decline in power throughout the majors, Bourn has been one of the biggest beneficiaries. His speed-heavy skill set hasn't been affected, causing him to move up the rankings simply by virtue of so many other players falling. True, his value is entirely dependent on his ability to run, which can evaporate rather quickly, but at age 29, he should still be at the top of his game. If nothing else, you know the move from Houston to Atlanta won't slow him down. The Braves acquired him at the deadline last year to add some life to the top of their lineup, and he certainly did that, attempting more steals per game than ever before. Having led the NL in the category three straight years, Bourn has dethroned Juan Pierre as the preeminent steals specialist in Fantasy, giving him added value in Rotisserie leagues. As he matures as a hitter, his on-base ability only figures to improve, so you have no reason to shy away from him as a No. 2 Fantasy outfielder. (Updated 1/5/12)
