Fantasy Analysis
Perkins has allowed at least one run in three of his last five appearances. His struggles could be related to the forearm soreness he had in mid-April, but he's past that injury now. Perkins hasn't had many chances for holds this season, but he should still get setup work this season. Perkins still has low-end Fantasy appeal when healthy. (Updated 04/29/2012).
05/13/2012 17:31 Diamond's 7 shutout innings lifts Twins
Scott Diamond pitched seven shutout innings, Brian Dozier hit his first career homer and the Minnesota Twins held on to beat the Toronto Blue Jays 4-3 Sunday.
Glen Perkins made a solid transition to the bullpen last season and even saw some save chances for the Twins. He went 4-4 with a 2.48 ERA in 65 appearances and converted 2 of 5 saves. He also struck out 65 in 61 2/3 innings and held lefties to a .222 average. The 29-year-old is expected to set up for Matt Capps this season but with the way Capps struggled a year ago, the left-hander could end up seeing more save opportunities again in 2012. Perkins should be productive enough to be considered in deeper AL-only formats and leagues that reward holds. (Updated 3/5/12)
