08/31/2011 21:42 Jays' Bautista blasts No. 39, Alvarez baffles Orioles
Henderson Alvarez allowed three hits in eight innings to become the youngest Toronto starter to win a game since 1979, Jose Bautista led a four-homer attack with his 39th of the season, and the Blue Jays beat the Baltimore Orioles 13-0.
Jake Fox played in just 27 games in the majors last season but has a good shot at grabbing a spot on the 25-man roster after signing with the Pirates in the offseason. He will compete with Michael McKendry as the primary backup to Rod Barajas behind the plate, but his ability to play the corner infield and outfield spots could help keep him around. The 29-year-old has shown some decent pop in the majors -- 20 homers and 73 RBI in 489 career at-bats -- but since he will likely not see a ton of at-bats in Pittsburgh this season, leave Fox for the deepest of NL-only formats on Draft Day.
