|Tom Gorzelanny restarts rehab process after week-long break |
|by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com|
(4/16/14) Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said Wednesday reliever Tom Gorzelanny has resumed the rehab process after taking a week-long break to rest his surgically repaired left shoulder.
"We backed him off for about a week, and then yesterday or the day before, he came back and threw a bullpen and was really happy, really threw the ball well, far better than he was throwing," Roenicke said, per MLB.com. "So he called [head athletic trainer] Dan Wright [and] told him he had a really good bullpen. He's pretty excited about it."

Gorzelanny is recovering from offseason shoulder surgery but he is on track to be ready by opening day. He went 3-6 with a 3.90 ERA and 83:31 K:BB ratio in 85 1/3 innings last year in his first season with the Brewers.
|Throwing program going well for Tom Gorzelanny |
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
(2/25/14) Three days into his throwing program, Brewers pitcher Tom Gorzelanny says things are going well, MLB.com reports.
"Just kind of taking it one step at a time and not trying to do too much or push it too hard," Gorzelanny said.
Gorzelanny is throwing from 70 feet as he progresses toward pitching his first bullpen session of the spring, and he hopes to be ready for opening day.
"If we're midway through March when he throws a game, we still feel like he's on track and as long as there's no setbacks, we're going to be close," manager Ron Roenicke said. "We're going to be close with him to figure out if he's going to be ready or not."
Gorzelanny is recovering from December shoulder surgery and should fill a bullpen role for the Brewers this season when healthy.
