Preseason Outlook

There was a stretch last season where Galarraga seemed capable of pitching like the Fantasy ace he was in 2008 -- OK, so it was merely the months of April and July. The other four months of the season he was cannon fodder. Galarraga will have to earn a starting role with the Tigers this spring, which makes him merely an AL-only Fantasy option on Draft Day. If he wins the job and finds some consistency, though, he could prove to be a breakthrough third-year starting pitcher. Watch him off the waiver wire in mixed leagues early on in the season.
