(4/19/13) The Indians placed pitcher Matt Albers on the restricted list Friday as he continues to remain away from the team, the Plain Dealer reports. Albers has not made an appearance since April 8 and is sporting a 5.40 ERA after four total games with Cleveland this season.

Albers will be out of action to attend the birth of his child. Nick Hagadone will take his spot in the Indians bullpen.

(4/7/13) Indians relief pitcher Matt Albers was ejected from Saturday night's game against the Rays after arguing with the second-base umpire at the end of the sixth inning.
Albers allowed a run-scoring single to Shelley Duncan in the sixth before getting tossed. He was charged with one run and three hits in one inning of work. He also struck out one and walked one in 28 pitches. Albers has a 5.40 ERA through his first three appearances.

(3/25/13) Indians pitcher Matt Albers said Monday he made the opening day roster and will pitch out of the bullpen, according to Newsradio WTAM 1100. Albers is 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA and 1.71 WHIP through seven spring appearances (seven innings).

Pinch-runner Elliot Johnson scored from third base on a wild pitch by reliever Matt Albers in the ninth inning, giving the Kansas City Royals a 2-1 win over the Cleveland Indians on Monday night.
