"Crain's not going to pitch," Crane said. "Albers ... got hurt. We didn't get any production from [either of them]."
Albers has a club option for $3 million for 2015. Crain is a free agent after this season, but has expressed an interest in returning to Houston.

(8/11/14) Astros reliever Matt Albers will throw a bullpen on Tuesday, according to the Houston Chronicle. Albers has been sidelined since April 22 due to right shoulder tendinitis and remains hopeful of playing again this season.
"I'm feeling good," Albers said. "I'm feeling a lot better. I threw a 20-pitch bullpen on Friday, and it went pretty well. I'll throw another one tomorrow and increase intensity. I'm feeling pretty good, and hopefully I'll be on the way back this year."
|Matt Albers begins mound work |
|by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com|
(8/5/14) Astros reliever Matt Albers tossed 15 fastballs during a bullpen session Saturday, as he continues to work his way back from a right shoulder injury.
Albers, who has been out since April 22 due to tendinitis, reported no setbacks in talking to the Houston Chronicle about the session Monday. He has been beset by setbacks during his recovery from this particular injury.
"The last couple times, I've kind of got off the mound, I kind of had a setback, so I feel like I've progressed where I can get off a mound," he said. "It's been a little bit. It felt good, came out good. (Sunday brought) no issues. I feel pretty normal."
Albers has no timetable for a possible return, but hopes to be back by the end of August, in a best-case scenario.
"My main goal is just to be able to get back healthy," Albers said. "I think if I can come back - even if it's a month, a little over a month of pitching - if I'm back to where I am, that's really important to go into the offseason knowing I'm over this injury and I can get back and have a normal offseason."
|Matt Albers to resume throwing Friday |
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
(7/30/14) Astros pitcher Matt Albers is scheduled to throw off a mound Friday, MLB.com reports. He has been on the disabled list since April 22 with shoulder tendinitis.
"I've been feeling pretty good," Albers said. "I think I felt pretty good a couple of times and then when I got off the mound, I had a setback. Hopefully, this time we're making sure I stretch it out and get some extra throwing in before I get back off the mound, but it's feeling pretty good right now."
Albers added that he expects to throw at 70-75 percent intensity Friday in order not to push himself too hard as he attempts to return from a lengthy injury.
|Matt Albers hoping to throw bullpen next week |
|by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com|
(7/26/14) Astros reliever Matt Albers has been playing catch from 100-120 feet as of late, and is hoping to throw a bullpen session at some point next week, the Houston Chronicle reports. Albers has been sidelined since April 22 with right shoulder tendinitis. It would be his first bullpen session since June.
"I just want to take a little bit longer to get off a mound just to make sure and then I'll take a few days off in between there and play catch and give my arm a little rest, which I think has helped," Albers said.
