Fantasy Analysis
Paulino has thrown three scoreless outings in his first four starts and has shown no signs of the forearm injury that landed him on the DL. He has 29 strikeouts in 25 1/3 innings with just seven walks. The 28-year-old has the stuff to compete as a starter and is off to a solid start so consider adding Paulino in deeper Fantasy formats for his second start of Week 8 (May 21-27). He is scheduled to pitch next on Sunday against the Orioles. (Updated 05/21/2012).

05/18/2012 17:56 Paulino is being added at a higher rate
Royals pitcher Felipe Paulino is one of the most added players in CBSSports.com leagues. The Fantasy Baseball 360 crew has all the analyis.
Felipe Paulino has never been short on potential. It's harnessing that ability into consistent results which has been a problem for the right-hander. Paulino recorded a career-high 133 strikeouts in 139 1/3 innings between Colorado and Kansas City in 2011, but control continued to be an issue (55 walks). After serving out of the bullpen for the Rockies, he was shipped to the Royals in late May and made 20 starts. He compiled a 4-6 record, 4.11 ERA and 1.37 WHIP. The 28-year-old is expected to be slotted at the back end of the Kansas City rotation this season, but his command still causes some concern. Paulino could push close to 30 starts, but without much consistency, he should be viewed as more than a late-round option in AL-only Fantasy formats. (Updated 2/13/12)
