| (4/1/09) Right-hander Jae Kuk Ryu, claimed on waivers by Cleveland from the Padres on Thursday, was returned to San Diego. The deal was voided by major league baseball, and the Indians would not comment on any injury concerns with the 25-year-old South Korean. |

| (3/24/09) From the The Sports Xchange: RHPs Heath Bell and Cla Meredith are the only two relievers who have clinched spots in the seven-man bullpen with just over two weeks remaining in spring training. Manager Bud Black has praised the work of three other relievers -- RHPs Jae Kuk Ryu and Edwin Moreno and LHP Arturo Lopez. The latter two are non-roster camp invitees. |
