Preseason Outlook

Villanueva was supposed to break out as a starter last season, but he completely broke down and rendered himself a terrible starter and a marginal middle reliever. We have to figure he will get a look to start again, but he is nothing more than a high-risk option for the deepest of NL-only leagues if he wins a rotation spot out of spring training. He really needs to prove effective before he is trusted in any kind of role with the Brewers, much less Fantasy owners. (Updated 1/13/10)
