Preseason Outlook

The 27-year-old Wells enjoyed a breakthrough season as a standout rookie in the Cubs' rotation. He started the year in the minors but took a starting job in May and ran with it the rest of the way. Even though his ERA, WHIP and batting-average against all rose in the second half, he still won eight games after the break and managed to stamp himself as one of the five members of the Cubs' rotation for 2010. Expecting a bit of a market correction this season, we don't think he is going to prove as consistently reliable in Year 2, but consider him a solid pick after the top 75 starting pitchers are off the board on Draft Day.
