| Ryan Hanigan hits first homer |
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (5/18/13) Reds catcher Ryan Hanigan entered Saturda against the Phillies with two RBI in 52 at-bats, a total he more than doubled with one swing.
Hanigan hit a three-run home run in the second inning off Phillies' starter Kyle Kendrick, his first of the season. He added a walk and a run scored to finish 1 for 3 in a 10-0 win.
Hanigan is batting .164 with five RBI in 55 at-bats.

| Ryan Hanigan finally feeling healthy |
by Adam Moore | CBSSports.com (5/11/13) Reds catcher Ryan Hanigan said he had no issues with his strained left oblique or right thumb injury during his return to the lineup Friday against the Brewers. Hanigan, who had been sidelined since April 19 with his injuries, went 2 for 4 with a pair of singles in his first game back in action and also made a diving catch on a Jean Segura sacrifice bunt attempt.
"Good start [to] get things going in the right direction," Hanigan told MLB.com. "I feel better, so I think I'm going to have more of a chance now, and it's a lot more confident swing when you're not distracted by pain and stuff like that."

| Ryan Hanigan with two hits in return |
by Adam Moore | CBSSports.com (5/11/13) Reds catcher Ryan Hanigan had a productive return to the lineup Friday against the Reds. Hanigan, who was activated off the 15-day disabled list earlier in the day, collected a pair of singles in the 4-3 win.
He also made a diving catch on a Jean Segura sacrifice bunt attempt and finished 2 for 4 at the plate.
Hanigan is batting .119/.208/.119 with two RBI over 42 at-bats.

| Reds activate Ryan Hanigan |
by Jack Moore | CBSSports.com (5/10/13) The Reds have activated catcher Ryan Hanigan from the disabled list, the club announced Friday.
Hanigan has been out since April with a strained oblique. Devin Mesoraco hasn't been impressive in his absence -- hitting .226/.324/.339 in 21 games -- so Hanigan could have the opportunity to win back the starting job, although he was hitting .079/.182/.079 before the injury.

| Ryan Hanigan kicks off rehab stint |
by Ed Gauna | CBSSports.com (5/7/13) Reds catcher Ryan Hanigan began his rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville Tuesday. He went 1 for 2 with a run scored.
Hanigan has been sidelined since April 19 due to a left oblique strain and sore right thumb.

| Ryan Hanigan had a delightfully unexpected 2012 campaign for the Reds, playing in 137 games and posting a .274 average with two home runs and 14 doubles. It was nothing earth-shattering, but Hanigan did provide an alternative to the 20 home run, .222 average breed of catchers for NL-only owners looking to not kill their batting average. At some point, Devin Mesoraco will take over as catcher, but Hanigan provides a nice batting average as a second catcher in NL-only leagues until that time comes. (Updated 12/3/12) |
