(7/27/14) Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval was removed from Saturday's game with tightness in his back and leg, the San Jose Mercury News reports.
"He's pretty beat up," manager Bruce Bochy said after Saturday's game.
Bochy is hopeful Sandoval will be able to play Sunday. The third baseman went 0 for 3 Saturday, giving him a .278/.327/.431 line with 12 home runs and 44 RBI in 371 at-bats.

(7/25/14) Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval has taken the momentum gained before the All-Star break and run with it.
Sandoval had nine hits in six games before the break and is 10-for-31 since despite managing just one hit in the last two games. He has both scored and driven in seven runs in the last 10 games to sweeten his stat line to .277/.327/.433.

(7/19/14) Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval hit a three-run homer Friday against the Marlins.
In the fifth inning, Sandoval worked a four-pitch at-bat against Nate Eovaldi. On the final pitch, Sandoval belted a 94 mph fastball out to right for the three-run shot. Sandoval also singled earlier in the game. He finished 2 for 4, with one run scored and three RBI.
|Pablo Sandoval had a book-end kind of season in 2013. Sandoval was outstanding in the first and final month of the season. It was the summer months that gave him problems and affected his final stat line. Sandoval managed to surpass 140 games for the first time since 2010, but he hit .278, which was the second-lowest batting average of his career, and slugged a career-worst .417. He also finished with less than 15 home runs for a second straight season. It was a disappointing year for Sandoval after it started with so much promise. He hit .333 with a .495 slugging percentage, four home runs, five doubles and 22 RBI in his first 26 games, which helped Sandoval average 19.4 Fantasy points through the first seven scoring periods. The good news is that he had a strong finish, batting .322 with a .540 slugging percentage, .950 OPS, four home runs, five doubles and 15 RBI over his last 26 games. He's also in the final year of his contract, which means he has extra motivation in 2014 to have a big season. Sandoval has potential to be a top 10 Fantasy third baseman, but since it's such a deep position, Sandoval will fall to the middle rounds on Draft Day.
