|(11/21/14) The Red Sox may be in the lead for infielder Pablo Sandoval , according to the Boston Globe.
The team is believed to have offered a five-year, $95 million deal to the 28-year-old. It was reported early in Sandoval's free agency that he was seeking a six-year contract, and it's unclear if any of his current offers contain an option for a sixth season. Sandoval hit .279/.324/.415 over 588 at-bats.

|(11/21/14) Sources have indicated the Padres are prepared to make free agent Pablo Sandoval a contract offer Friday, reports MLB Insider Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com.
Along with the Padres, the Giants, Red Sox, White Sox and Blue Jays have also shown interest in signing the third baseman.

Mets, Giants, A's, other clubs eye top Korean shortstop Jung-Ho Kang
Jung-Ho Kang has big-time power, but some teams see him as more of a second baseman than a shortstop.
|2014 Summary: For the third season in a row, Pablo Sandoval failed to live up to the promise of his 2009 and 2011 seasons, in which produced a .300-plus batting average and 20-plus home runs. He has settled into a middling level of production, as he hit .279 with 16 home runs and 73 RBI. Sandoval finished as the 12th-ranked third baseman in standard mixed Rotisserie and Head-to-Head points leagues.
Playing time status: Sandoval signed a five-year deal with the Red Sox this offseason after spending his first seven years with the Giants, and he will assuredly take over as Boston's regular third baseman. The biggest obstacle to playing time for Sandoval over his career has been injuries, but he played in a career-high 157 games in 2014.
2015 Outlook: At 28, Sandoval is still young enough to recapture the higher level of performance of his early career. Given his recent string of mediocre seasons and history of health issues, Sandoval is still best saved for a pick in the middle to late rounds.
