Elbow - 60-day DL. Out for season (Updated - 4/27/12)
Fantasy Analysis
Wilson posted a 9.00 ERA and one save in only two appearances this season. Just because he's ahead of schedule in May, that doesn't mean Wilson will be ready for spring training. The right-hander has struggled with injuries over the past two seasons and was limited to only 55 innings last year -- his lowest total since 2007. Fantasy owners should continue to track his progress during the season and the offseason to see when he'll be ready to pitch again. For now, owners in seasonal formats should have already dropped Wilson. When healthy, he is a viable closer in all Fantasy formats. (Updated 05/16/2012).

04/12/2012 18:45 Giants' Bumgarner bests Moyer, Rockies
Madison Bumgarner scattered four hits over 7 1/3 innings and took a no-hit bid into the sixth Thursday in the San Francisco Giants' 4-2 win over the Colorado Rockies.
Brian Wilson entered 2011 as one of Fantasy's top closers, having finished among the top eight in Fantasy points three years running. He fell out of the top 10 last season, as his value was dampened by a soaring walk rate, and oblique and elbow injuries curtailed his innings and effectiveness. In the middle portion of the season, when Wilson was at his healthiest, he was not much more wild than usual, but his velocity was down over the course of the entire season. In fact, Wilson generally relied on his fastball less, going to his slider more often, which may explain why he posted the lowest swinging-strike percentage of his career. Even while allowing more contact and more free passes, Wilson was still very effective, blowing only five of 41 save chances, but a 1.47 WHIP prevented him from performing like an elite option. Owners should be cautious in targeting Wilson for 2012, not expecting a return to top-shelf status, but rather viewing him as a mid-to-low-end No. 1 relief pitcher option. (Updated 2/21/12)
