| Jeff Clement willing to catch |

(3/18/13) Jeff Clement, competing for a roster spot in Minnesota as a first baseman or designated hitter, said he is willing to catch in a pinch as well, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported Monday. The 29-year-old is batting just .241/.353/.276 this spring and is looking for every edge to make the roster. Clement was initially drafted as a catcher by the Mariners with the third overall pick of the 2005 draft. He is competing with Wilkin Ramirez and Brandon Boggs for what is likely to be the Twins' 25th and final roster spot.
