| Drew Butera removes splint on hand |

(5/7/13) Twins minor-league catcher Drew Butera, on the minor-league disabled list with a broken left hand, removed the splint on his hand and started his rehab.
Butera played just one game with Triple-A Rochester before getting hurt. There is no concrete timetable for his return.

(4/6/13) The Twins placed minor-league catcher Drew Butera on the seven-day minor-league disabled list due to a broken left hand. Butera did not make Minnesota's opening day roster but is considered catching depth at Triple-A.

(3/25/13) The Twins announced Monday they optioned catcher Drew Butera to Triple-A Rochester. Butera's demotion means the Twins will carry just two catchers -- Joe Mauer and Ryan Doumit.
Butera, who has hit just .183 in 184 career games, was batting .375 (6 for 16) with one homer, two doubles and six RBI in seven spring games.

(7/2/12) Twins catcher Drew Butera hit his first homer of the season Sunday against the Royals, a three-run shot. Unfortunately, Butera still hasn't had a multi-hit game in his last 13 appearances (nine starts) dating back to May 20, batting .152 (5 for 33) in that span.
