(5/22/13) Braves shortstop Ramiro Pena homered for the second time in Wedneday's win over Minnesota.
Pena has started just 10 games but is hitting a robust .286/.352/.460 in a reserve role. However, he's unlikely to overtake shortstop of the future Andrelton Simmons for playing time barring an injury.

(4/7/13) Braves shortstop Ramiro Pena was 2 for 4 with a double and two RBI in a 5-1 victory over the Cubs Sunday. Pena, who earned a spot in the starting lineup for the second game in a row with Andrelton Simmons (thumb) sidelined, finished the series with three hits -- his first of the season -- in eight at-bats and four RBI.

(4/6/13) Braves infielder Ramiro Pena made his first start of the season on Saturday against the Cubs. He manned shortstop with starter Andrelton Simmons being scratched due to a left thumb injury.
“For me, it’s OK,” manager Fredi Gonzalez told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “It’s just day-to-day and gives Pena a chance a little bit. We always talk about how good our team is and one of my biggest challenges is playing everybody. And now Pena gets to play a little bit.”

(12/13/12) MLB.com's Mark Bowman reported on Thursday that the Braves signed infielder Ramiro Pena to a one-year deal for 2013. Pena, 27, has a .233 average over four seasons with the Yankees.
