Preseason Outlook

Turns out the move away from Yankee Stadium didn't have a huge effect on Abreu's power. He put up numbers virtually identical to those from his previous two years in New York, getting on base, hitting .290 and scoring and driving in right at 100 runs. If anything, he benefited from the move by getting to run again, with manager Mike Scioscia always looking to take advantage of his players' speed. Abreu is no longer a serious threat for 20 home runs, but his contributions in every other category still make him plenty valuable. And in leagues that reward his walks, he's practically elite. His 36 years of age makes him a bit more risky than most No. 2 Fantasy outfielders, but if he slips to the middle rounds, he's a clear value. (Updated 1/13/10)
