Fantasy Analysis
The 38-year-old Cairo is healthy and ready to contribute for Cincinnati. That said, not much is expected of him in Fantasy circles. He's not expected to play every day and has just low-end Fantasy value for NL-only formats. (Updated 05/07/2012).
04/14/2012 19:57 Jackson 2-hits Reds, keeps Nats hot
Edwin Jackson threw a two-hitter for his fifth career complete game and Adam LaRoche added to his unusually strong start with a tiebreaking two-run double Saturday, helping the Washington Nationals win their fifth game in a row, 4-1 over the Cincinnati Reds.
04/11/2012 16:02 Votto's heroics help Reds escape sweep
Joey Votto tied a career best with four hits and scored the go-ahead run on pinch-hitter Chris Heisey's ninth-inning single, capping a comeback from a three-run deficit and leading the Cincinnati Reds over the St. Louis Cardinals 4-3 Wednesday.
Miguel Cairo posted some of his best offensive numbers in years for the Reds last season. He saw action in 102 games and batted .265 with a career-high eight homers and 33 RBI. He also slugged .412 while playing all over the infield. The 37-year-old has proven to be a solid utility infielder for years now but his lack of playing time limits his value in Fantasy. Leave Cairo for the deepest of NL-only formats on Draft Day. (Updated 1/25/12)
