Giants ink Dessens to minors deal
(2/9/11) Multiple sources report the Giants have signed RP Elmer Dessens to a minor-league contract with an invite to spring training.

Dessens picks up first win
(6/9/10) Mets RP Elmer Dessens picked up his first win of the year on Tuesday against the Padres. He faced just one batter and only needed six pitches to strike out Scott Hairston to end the top of the 11th.

Dessens called up by Mets
(5/21/10) Mets starter John Maine was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Friday with what the team called weakness in his right (throwing) shoulder. Maine was lifted from Thursday's start after facing just one batter. Elmer Dessens was recalled to take his place on the roster.
