|Cleveland wants Jason Giambi back |
|by Jack Moore | CBSSports.com|
(10/9/13) Cleveland is interested in bringing Jason Giambi back for another season as a bench bat, CBS Cleveland reports.
The season was a struggle at times for Giambi, who hit just .183/.282/.371, but he came up with a number of clutch home runs, including a walk-off against Chicago in the season's final week. If he doesn't return as a player, general manager Chris Antonetti suggested there could be room for Giambi in the organization as a coach. The Rockies considered naming Giambi manager last season, so a transition into a coaching career within the next few years would hardly be a surprise.
