Griffey gets first spring hits: Chone Figgins and Ken Griffey Jr. are finally on the board. Figgins ended his spring slump with two hits, including a two-run triple during Seattle's four-run fifth inning, and the Mariners tied the Kansas City Royals 6-6 on Friday. Griffey had his first two hits of spring training for Seattle, a one-hop double off the center-field wall in the fourth and a bloop RBI single that drove in Figgins in the fifth. Griffey also had a sacrifice fly in the first. "Me and Griffey were the last ones (without a hit)," Figgins said. "When he got his, I figured I'd better hurry up and get one, because he'd have been talking if I didn't."

Fantasy Analysis

Griffey jokingly celebrated his first hit by having the ball thrown into the dugout. At least he hasn't lost his sense of humor through the years. Griffey is going to spend most of his time at DH in 2010. He does have a little power left in his bat, but he just isn't the same hitter he once was. Consider the now part-time veteran nothing more than a late-round option in the deepest of AL-only leagues.
