D. Lee considering retirement: According to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, the Pirates are waiting to hear back from 1B Derrek Lee about whether or not he'll accept their arbitration offer this offseason. Lee could instead choose to test the free agent market or perhaps even retire, as he is reportedly contemplating. (Updated 12/05/2011)

Fantasy Analysis
The injury-prone Lee had a resurgent season in 2009, hitting .306 with 35 homers, but he has been a below-average first baseman in the two years since. At age 36, his power is only a fraction of what it once was, and he's unlikely to play more than 120 games. Because he's no guarantee to be an everyday player even if he returns to the Pirates, you wouldn't want to draft him outside of NL-only leagues. (Updated 12/05/2011).
