| Moehler needs season-ending surgery |
| (8/25/10) From The Sports Xchange notes: RHP Brian Moehler had another setback in his recovery from a groin strain, exiting a rehab start with Triple-A Round Rock after just three innings and 31 pitches with soreness in his groin. He has been on the DL since early July, and his comeback efforts were previously stalled when he experienced discomfort during a simulated game in early August. He was supposed to pitch Sunday for Double-A Corpus Christi, but he has opted for season-ending surgery. |
| Moehler suffers setback |
| (8/25/10) MLB.com reports that Astros right-hander Brian Moehler, who has been on the disabled list since July 8 with a right groin injury, was forced to leave his rehab start Tuesday for Triple-A Round Rock against Oklahoma City with discomfort in his groin. He went three innings, allowing one hit and one run. |

| (8/23/10) Astros SP Brian Moehler, on the disabled list since July 8 with a right groin strain, is scheduled to begin his minor-league rehab on Tuesday with Triple-A Round Rock, reports MLB.com. He will be limited to to a maximum of 60 pitches. If all goes well, he will throw another bullpen session Thursday and then start for Double-A Corpus Christi on Sunday at San Antonio. |
| Moehler maps out return |
| (8/21/10) Astros SP Brian Moehler (groin) has mapped out a plan for his return, according to MLB.com. Moehler will fly to Houston on Sunday and attempt to throw a bullpen session Monday. If that goes well, he will head to Triple-A Round Rock to start a game Tuesday, in which he would be limited to a maximum of 60 pitches. He will throw another bullpen session Thursday and then start for Double-A Corpus Christi on Sunday at San Antonio. Moehler will then will be evaluated to see if he is ready to return to the team. |
