| Tatis could be done for career |
| (7/15/10) Mets 1B Fernando Tatis, who was placed on the DL July 5 with an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder, underwent shoulder surgery on Wednesday. According to MLB.com, the surgery was to repair the labrum in his right shoulder and could potentially be career-ending. The team transferred him from the 15-day to the 60-day DL to make room on the roster for OF Carlos Beltran. Tatis hit .185 with two homers and six RBI in 41 games before being sidelined with the injury. |

| (7/5/10) The Mets have placed OF Fernando Tatis on the 15-day DL with an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder. "He's had some problems with it since spring training," manager Jerry Manuel said. "That has a lot to do with the fact that he wasn't able to get the bat into a position of strength with that shoulder. I guess the doctor looked at him today and decided it was the best thing." Tatis was hitting just .185 with two homers and six RBI. |

| (6/29/10) The Mets have already gotten rid of struggling bench players Gary Matthews Jr. and Frank Catalanotto this season and Fernando Tatis could be next if he doesn't start hitting. MLB.com reports on Tuesday that manager Jerry Manuel put Tatis in the lineup to get his bat going Tuesday in Puerto Rico against the Marlins. "I think you've got to get a better opportunity to have some swings on a regular basis," Manuel said. "Historically, he's been able to get that. We've been able to put him in left field. We've been able to put him at first base. We've been able to put him at third base. We had a game where he played at second base. But with the way we're set up right now, that's difficult to do." Manuel wouldn't say that Tatis is playing for a job. |

| (6/28/10) According to MLB.com, Mets OF Fernando Tatis will start at first base in place of Ike Davis on Tuesday. Tatis has not started since June 20. |
